Students learn about the science of baseball at Citizens Bank Park

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Nearly 200 students had the opportunity to lean about science at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Gas Works teamed up to host the children for a STEM-filled day of fun.

Volunteers helped set up five stations across the ballpark. The activities helped students learn about the science behind the sport of baseball.

Members of the Phillies front office, PGW employees and the Phillie Phanatic led the children through a series of activities.

Students from Abram S. Jenks School, Feltonville Intermediate School, Feltonville School of Arts and Sciences and Middle Years Alternative School all participated.
