Students recognized as "Leaders and Legends of Philadelphia"

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Students who have emerged as leaders were recognized for their hard work in their communities during a celebration at Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse in the Fairmount Park section of Philadelphia.

The 11 honorees were nominated by local nonprofits to be recognized as "Leaders and Legends of Philadelphia."

Monday's event also served as a Black History Month exhibit and featured an interactive storytime for elementary school students.
