LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- For children fighting unthinkable battles with cancer, there's a place where they can go and just be kids.
Sunrise Day Camp-Greater Philadelphia brightens their days, and it's all for free.
The environment becomes a safe haven in the present, and builds the foundation for a future after their illness.
"We want kids to enjoy the moment. They're also going to have lasting memories, lasting relationships, whether it's the friendships or the mentorships that are really going to carry them on," said Executive Director, Mark McElrath.
Members of the Philadelphia Union recently stopped by their camp to visit the brave children.
" Being able to connect with the community and just being together with everybody...It's my favorite thing being able to come out here and just enjoy the sun, the weather... All the smiling faces too just puts a smile on my face, which is amazing," said Philadelphia Union Midfielder, Jeremy Rafanello.
