Suspect shot by police in Chester, Pennsylvania

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- An investigation is underway after a police officer shot a suspect Wednesday night in Chester, Pennsylvania.

The incident happened around 8:33 p.m. near 9th and Walnut streets.

Authorities told Action News that at least one officer fired a weapon, striking the suspect, who is hospitalized in critical condition.

There was no immediate word on what led up to the shooting.

Police said no officers were injured during the incident.
