Police investigating attemped home break-in shoot, kill man in Upper Pottsgrove, Pa.

UPPER POTTSGROVE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A police shooting that ended with a man dead is under investigation in Montgomery County.

Police were called to an attempted home break-in on Snyder Road in Upper Pottsgrove Township at 12:29 a.m. Sunday.

Officers arrived to find a man in the back of the property.

Investigators have not provided details on the encounter that led police to fire the fatal shots.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's detective bureau is now leading the investigation.
