PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It has been more than 6 years since a man was found shot to death inside his home in Philadelphia.

His loved ones are hoping someone will come forward with information that leads to an arrest.

"It's very heart breaking, and for his children and other family members just as well. He wasn't just a son or brother, nephew, whatever, he was a protector," says Karen Adam.

Anthony Abel's mother is still trying to come to terms with her son's murder.

The 46-year-old Abel was found shot numerous times in a chair in his bedroom along the 200 block of Montana Street in East Mount Airy on April 17th, 2020.

"Me as a mother will never get over it," says Adam.

Abel's mother says she sent one of his nephews and an uncle to check on him after no one had heard from him for several days.

Authorities determined he had been shot three days prior to being discovered.

"If you've seen anybody come in or out of my son's house, or you see anybody running out or heard anything please come forward to the police," says Adam.

The City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the murder of Anthony Abel.

The number to call is 215-546-TIPS.

All calls will remain anonymous.
