Swimmer dies from drowning after being pulled from water in Ocean County, NJ

OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. (WPVI) -- A 39-year-old man drowned while swimming in Ocean County.

Lavallette Police responded to calls for a swimmer in distress near New York Avenue at around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

Rescuers pulled the man out of the water and began resuscitation efforts.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
