Temple University Hospital marks Donate Life Month

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Temple University Hospital marked national donate life month with an event on campus.

This Thursday the medical staff and the Gift of Life Donor Program celebrated the record-breaking 179 lung transplants performed at the hospital last year.

The event also included a flag-raising and parade to salute the generosity and courage of organ donors and their families.

The goal of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.
