Tractor-trailer strikes overpass support beams on I-295 in Mt. Laurel, NJ

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (WPVI) -- Several lanes of I-295 in Burlington County were blocked on Thursday afternoon following a crash involving a tractor-trailer.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes just past Exit 40 - NJ 38 in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.

Officials say the tractor-trailer crashed into the overhead support beams for Mount Laurel Road.

Chopper 6 was overhead where you can see a heavily damaged truck underneath the overpass.

The driver was extricated and flown by helicopter to the hospital.

There's no word on the driver's condition at this time.
