Traditions of Puerto Rico come to life in South Jersey during 'Fiesta Borinquena'

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, New Jersey (WPVI) -- Today, an expression of Puerto Rico's culture was held in South Jersey.

"Fiesta Borinqueña" took place, bringing generations together to celebrate tradition.

"This is who we are and we need to let the younger generation...stay in touch with the heritage, with our culture,...with everything that we stand for. We're very deep rooted in family, in faith...So we just want people to walk away knowing a little bit about our culture and who we are," said Millie Irizarry, President of Fiesta Borinqueña.

You can join the fun for their second day of the event tomorrow, Sunday August 2nd, 2026 from 11am-8pm at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds.
