Trenton makes a splash with opening of public pools ahead of heat wave

TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Trenton pools are officially open for the summer, just in time for the upcoming heat wave.

Mayor Reed Gusciora joined a group of kids for a dip in Hetzel pool on North Olden Avenue on Monday.

There are currently five locations open to residents across the city.

Trenton's Summer Pool Program provides instructional lessons in everything from basic water safety to lifeguard training.
