The National Weather Service will be conducting surveys of tornado damage on Wednesday.
Bertha is forecast to make landfall Wednesday night southeast of New Orleans, with wind as the biggest threat, according to Michael Buchanan, a National Weather Service meteorologist.
A line of severe storms brought down trees, flooded roadways, and triggered a tornado warning Tuesday evening.
Damage from the July 11 storms remains visible throughout the neighborhood. One tree was uprooted along with the surrounding concrete, crushing a car and causing damage to several homes.
Tropical Storm Bertha has strengthened in the Gulf of Mexico and is moving toward the Florida Panhandle and Alabama, causing a tropical storm warning and storm surge watches.
