Truck driver seriously hurt after crash into woods in Absecon

ABSECON, NJ (WPVI) -- Police are investigating after a crash left a truck driver injured in South Jersey.

It happened around 4 a.m. Wednesday on South New Road near Creek Bridge in Absecon.

Police say a tractor-trailer struck a guardrail, then traveled into a wooded area, where it became deeply embedded in the woods.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to an area hospital.

The road remained closed for five hours while crews removed the tractor-trailer from the woods.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact police.
