WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A charity said it will pay off the mortgage for the family of fallen Delaware State Police trooper Cpl. Matthew "Ty" Snook.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation made that announcement on Monday.
The foundation says it plans to have the mortgage paid off by New Year's Day.
The Snook family will be the first of 343 mortgage-free homes the Tunnel to Towers Foundation will deliver in 2026.
This is in tribute to the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Snook was shot and killed last Tuesday while on duty at the DMV on Hessler Boulevard in Minquadale.
The gunman, 44-year-old Rahman Rose, shot Snook for an unknown reason.
Police say Snook pushed a DMV worker out of harm's way before Rose shot him again.
Rose was then killed by a responding New Castle County police officer.
A candlelight vigil for Snook will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the PAL Center in Hockessin, Delaware.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, Jan. 5, at the University of Delaware Bob Carpenter Center in Newark.
