PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The world's largest operating steam locomotive is coming to the Philadelphia area!

Union Pacific's Big Boy No. 4014 is making a journey to the East Coast for the first time, in what the company says is a historic coast-to-coast tour to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

The tour includes several stops in Pennsylvania, including in Philadelphia, for a Fourth of July celebration.

As part of a fundraiser for the tour, some fans will get a chance to ride in vintage passenger cars pulled by Big Boy through the Poconos Mountains this weekend. The sold-out event is the only passenger excursion of the tour.

But, if you didn't get those tickets, it will be stationed in Scranton for ticketed viewing from June 15 through June 30.

The train will then travel through Jim Thorpe, Reading and Pottstown on July 2. It will pass through King of Prussia twice, with the first being on July 3 and again on July 7.

Big Boy 4014 will then stop in Philadelphia, where you can see the steam locomotive on display from July 4 to July 6.
