WEST POINT, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- A Montgomery County hidden gem resides in a Victorian home that is over 100-years-old.

The Village Teahouse is the passion project of owner Meg Schaffer.

What she provides to the community is a relaxing environment, delicious bites, and a fresh cup of tea.

"It's like going back where times were easier. It's a little bit slower pace... You can come in and have a tea, a full tea service. We give you 2 hours and you just forget about the world and enjoy the company that you're with. And we make all our food here. People come from four different states and they make it an experience and adventure out," said Schaffer.

The business was born after a major life shift for Schaffer.

"My mom passed away. My husband passed away the next year. And I had to reinvent myself. And my lifelong dream was to own a breakfast lunch or a tea house. I had to do something...my husband and I were going to retire. I stopped at the stop sign across the street and this house was for sale," said Schaffer.

" I am getting older. I would like to retire. I would hope that someone would come along someday and say, I would like to take the torch from you. That would be a blessing. And we hope we can continue for many, many more generations," she continued.
