Woman found dead on steps of church in Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- An investigation is underway after police found a woman dead on the steps of a church in the Eastwick section of Southwest Philadelphia.

The discovery was made just before 8:00 a.m. on Sunday on the 7200 block of Grovers Avenue.

Police are working with the Medical Examiner's office to determine the woman's cause of death.

Her identity has not been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
