Woman shot in chest after rock thrown through window in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A gunman shot a woman just outside her home in North Philadelphia.

Investigators say she had stepped outside because someone threw a rock through the front living room window, when she was shot in the chest.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Monday in the 1200 block of Fairmount Avenue.

She was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

No other information has been released at this time.

Police are investigating.
