World War II veteran Mr. Charles Gibbs celebrates 100th birthday in Chester County

WAGONTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- On Saturday, World War II veteran Mr. Charles Gibbs celebrated his 100th birthday.

Friends and family gathered in Wagontown, Chester County to spend the day with Mr. Gibbs.

Charles was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II and served in a segregated unit. He was stationed in Okinawa Japan.

After returning home, Charles married his wife, Inez. They went on to have four children during their 67-year marriage.
