ODESSA, Del. (WPVI) -- A man wanted for burglary who fled from police while in handcuffs has been captured, Delaware State Police say.

Troopers located 24-year-old Tahreek Leslie around 5 p.m. in a wooded area behind Pleasant Hill Motel in Odessa.

He has been charged with 2nd-degree escape, 2nd-degree burglary, theft of a fire and 2nd-degree theft and conspiracy.

According to police, troopers were detaining Leslie of New Castle County around 11:30 a.m. Sunday for a trespass complaint.

They say a subsequent computer check revealed he was wanted by police on several charges.

Police say Leslie, while handcuffed, fled from the building and parking lot, and was last seen running across eastbound on Route 299.

He was later captured and is back in police custody.

Police say circumstances surrounding his escape are under investigation.
