SMYRNA, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police say a Smyrna woman has been charged with murder after she fatally shot her husband.
The Delaware State Police say they received a 911 call around 3 a.m. Wednesday from a residence on Sugar Maple Lane. The initial call was disconnected. A dispatcher calling back reached 57-year-old Amanda King who told the dispatcher she had shot her husband. Troopers took King into custody. She is being held without bail.
King's husband, 68-year-old James E. King, was found inside the home with a single gunshot to the torso. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy ruled King's death a homicide.
Delaware State Police say they don't yet have a motive for the shooting. A telephone number to the home rang unanswered Thursday.
