STAFFORD TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- We are now hearing from the pilot of a small plane who made an emergency landing on a South Jersey highway.

Police released video earlier this week that showed the incredible landing on Route 72 in Stafford Township on Sunday.

The skydiving plane lost its only engine, prompting pilot Michael Barbato to land it, then immediately steer the plane out of traffic and onto the median.

Everyone on board did have parachutes, but Barbato says he never would have used it

"There was no chance I was going to be jumping out of that airplane, because once you leave that airplane you have no control over where it goes," he said.

Incredibly, the only injury was a small cut on one skydiving instructor's arm.

Notably, the plane landed on a highway sign that reads "Keep off the median."

Barbato says he wants that as a souvenir.
