The Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show returns to the Convention Center. The show is in its 41st year and it's one of the most prestigious craft shows in the nation, gathering some of the finest artisans from around the country.

More than 195 artists were selected out a pool of over 1,000 applicants to showcase their handmade one-of-a-kind works. It offers a unique insight with the maker, says event chairperson Pam Yih. "So it's kind of like going to your favorite museum or going into your favorite shop and asking them what it is that they do, how they did it, and what inspired them to do it."

The show has raised over $12 million for the museum with items on display ranging from ceramics and jewelry to furniture and clothing. A collection Yih looks forward to shopping, "I already have a couple of the items on my list."

This year is the first show for emerging artist Robertta Massuch, who lives in Philadelphia, and will be debuting her ceramic creations, "My functional porcelain vessels and functional wear. But also a small selection of my sculptural work," describes Massuch.

Annina King has presented for the past five years and will showcase her unique fashion pieces including one example. "An artisanal ready to wear and made to measure line," explains King.

This is the fifth show for Maria Eife, whose jewelry collection is made with a 3-D printer.

The show is run by the Women's Committee of Philadelphia and this year they'll feature 25 guest artists from Korea. "It's something that you can't see here in the United States and it's only here at the show this year," boasts Yih. "There's something there for everyone. That's the beauty of the show."

The Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show opens with a preview party Nov. 8 and runs the 9th thru the 12th at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. For tickets and event schedule visit,
