The new facility will offer post-acute medical care to the homeless, for anyone too ill to recover in a homeless shelter

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Health officials came together Tuesday morning in North Philadelphia to celebrate the opening of the city's first medical respite facility.

The city's Deputy Managing Director of Health and Human Services, Eva Gladstein, joined other city leaders in announcing the opening of Serenity Court.

The new facility will offer post-acute medical care to the homeless, for anyone too ill to recover in a homeless shelter.
