Authorities say a Lower Pottsgrove Township officer was struck by a suspect who fled from police during an attempted traffic stop.

LOWER POTTSGROVE, Pa. -- A Lower Pottsgrove Township police officer is home from the hospital after being struck by a suspect's vehicle.



The incident happened around 9:00 p.m. Thursday.



Police say officers tried to pull the suspect over, the suspect fled, and officers pursued him.



During the pursuit, an officer was struck by the suspect's vehicle.



Police caught up with the man a short time later at High and Moser Streets and arrested him.



He is custody and being tested for DUI.



The officer was taken to West Reading Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released overnight.



The incident remains under investigation.
