Police say the car was traveling at a high rate of speed.

The impact of the crash caused the striking vehicle to hit a guardrail to the on-ramp of The Schuylkill then spin around.

The second vehicle, with five people inside, also spun out of control before landing in a grass median.

A rear seat 17-year-old passenger in the second vehicle suffered head trauma. He is in critical condition at Lankenau Medical Center.

Two other 17-year-old males and a 17-year-old female suffered facial scratches and minor neck and back injuries. They were all taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

Police say the driver in the first vehicle may have been driving under the influence.

The Kelly Drive-Lincoln Drive exit on 76 eastbound was closed while the wreckage was cleared.
