CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Investigators say the victims of a double homicide in Camden, New Jersey were twin brothers.
The bodies of Markice and Maurice Harper, both 26, were found after officers responded to the scene at 7:36 a.m. Friday at Collings Road and South Constitution Road.
Officers arrived to find the victims shot inside a vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the brothers had been dead for several hours before they were spotted by a passing driver.
"I heard by neighbor saying 'I think there's somebody dead out here in this car.' And that's when I came and everybody came running out and there were two people slouched over in the car dead," said neighbor Linette Jenkins.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. There have been no arrests.
Friends and family members on scene say the two lived good lives, and don't understand why the brothers were killed.
Two women, who didn't want to be identified out of fears for their safety, said they grew up with the Harper brothers.
"They grew up across the street. We used to go over to their house all the time. All the time."
Friends of the twins say they recently purchased a new SUV, and wonder if it's related to the shooting.
"They only had it for about a week. Like, we knew that was their car, we just saw them in it two days ago," said one person who did not want to be identified.
