West Powelton Steppers and Drum Squad performs on Action News Mornings

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Daylight Saving Time means we lost an hour of sleep over the weekend.

But on Monday morning we were waking you up with the beat of the drum on Action News!

The West Powelton Steppers and Drum Squad was founded in 1991 by the late Elsie Wise, with a goal of keeping children in the community out of trouble and doing something positive.

It is now under the direction of her Grandson Antoine Mapp.

He has been on the squad since 1991 at the age of 11.
