Breakfast lovers in Philadelphia now have a place to get their favorite morning eats any time of day.

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Breakfast lovers in Philadelphia now have a place to get their favorite morning eats any time of day.

It started with two women who loved to travel. And they decided to bring a special waffle recipe to the city of brotherly love.

Add to that some potato wedges and pretzel rolls and their food truck was on a roll.

That truck became so popular they've opened a restaurant at the corner of 15th Street and Pine Street.

And Center City now has a new place for customized fast food.

There's never a bad time for liege waffles.

"This is the liege from scratch. We hand make every one of these here," said Laura Judy, co-owner of Waffles & Wedges.

The homemade recipe includes nuggets of pearl sugar that caramelize for a crunchy outside and leave the middle soft and chewy.

It's like a fancy waffle, but the fancy part is just the base.

And you can take this waffle and build it all the way up.

"You can adorn it with everything. Top every bite," said Andrea Capecci, co-owner of Waffles & Wedges.

And just how many toppings do you think they have?

"I'd have to count," said Judy.

The toppings can be used for waffles, wedges or pretzel rolls.

There's a lot of options - a rotating menu of savory and sweet items to choose from.

The restaurant is almost like a grown-up candy bar.

The potato wedges are baked, not fried, and served in a handy container.

Whether it's a waffle, a wedge or a pretzel roll - everything is made to order in 5 minutes or less.

"You're going to get exactly what you want," said Judy.
