A new restaurant in Trenton is owned by a controversial marijuana activist.

TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- If it's lunchtime or if you've got the munchies, there's a new food joint for you to enjoy in Trenton.

N.J. Weedman's Joint is owned by controversial marijuana activist, Ed Forchion, also known as N.J. Weedman.

The restaurant and an adjoining spiritual center are located on State Street right across from city hall.

The menu features salads, fruit, healthy foods, smoothies and other snacks.

Forchion says he is a bone cancer survivor and his resolution to eat healthier is behind the idea.

He has been fighting for years to legalize marijuana and says he was able to open up the restaurant with donations from others around the country who share his views on legalizing pot.

In addition, he jokes that he only hires people who fail the drug test
