Man acquitted in kidnapping of Pa. lawmaker's son

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - July 1, 2008

A jury on Tuesday found 36-year-old Kenneth Tuck not guilty on all counts, including robbery, kidnapping conspiracy and firearms charges.

Tuck testified that he was home playing cards when 26-year-old Shamari Taylor was kidnapped by several men in August 2006. His mother and sister corroborated the story.

Taylor, the son of House Democrat John Myers of Philadelphia, has never been found and is presumed dead. His girlfriend, 23-year-old Caren Murphy, was abducted with him but released four hours later.

Tuck's first trial in May 2007 ended with the jury unable to reach a verdict.
