State police say an 18-year-old man was shot when he put up a struggle during a robbery at a New Castle bus stop. Two men approached the teen on Christiana Road, across from Georgetown Manor Apartments on Saturday afternoon and demanded his property. But police say the teen resisted and was shot three times.

Police say the robbers and everyone else in the area ran away.

The teen was shot once in the chest and twice in the buttocks. He was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Police say they've detained six people, but no one has been charged.
