KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- Nicole Scott was on a shopping spree at the King of Prussia Mall Saturday - and she was on a mission.

"You know we always like our shoes, but probably I want to get some pants that I can transition from work to go out and hang out with my friends," she told Action News.

Dressed in a touch of pink, Nicole is a breast cancer survivor. She's also the winner of a $250 gift card as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

"Nothing in this world could prepare you for that," she said. "I just took it day by day."

Nicole was diagnosed at the age of 37. Seven years later - after surgery, chemotherapy and radiation - she is cancer free.

"I feel good," she said. "I have a lot of energy, more energy than I had before my diagnosis, actually."

KOP is one of seven area malls giving shopping sprees to breast cancer survivors this month.

Nicole was chosen for her dedication to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Young Survivors Group.

"Every year when I'm at the satellite tables, I speak to many people who either had breast cancer or are helping someone in that struggle," she said. "And the stories are amazing."

"Many women of many different ages have had scares," said King of Prussia Mall spokesperson Kathy Smith. "I've had a scare. My mother is a survivor. It's just beautiful to be able to recognize somebody."

As Nicole picked out a new lipstick, she said she hopes all women will take charge of their health, ask questions and do research like she did.

"If you feel like something is off," she said, "We have that inner... I don't know... that inner voice that's telling us something is wrong. Listen to that. Follow that."
