Nearly 70 shell casings found after shooting, carjacking in Philadelphia's Parkside section: Police

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a shooting and carjacking in Philadelphia's Parkside neighborhood.

Philadelphia police were called to 50th and Parkside Avenue just before 2 a.m. on Saturday over reports of shots fired.

Officers say they found the driver of a black Nissan, who had been carjacked.

That person was not hurt, but authorities say nearly 70 shell casings were found at the scene, along with projectiles and live rounds.

Detectives are now checking area hospitals to see if any shooting victims have arrived.
