VIDEO: Big rise in breast cancer by 2030
America could be facing a breast cancer boom.

America could be facing a breast cancer boom.

The National Cancer Institute says the number will rise by 50% by the year 2030 - that means nearly 450,000 women diagnosed every year.

The NCI says one reason for the rise is the aging of the Baby Boomer generation.

It puts more women into the prime age for breast cancer.

Women are also living longer, allowing more time for cancer to develop.

Obesity and lifestyle may also be factors.

The report was released at a major cancer meeting in Philadelphia.
