Alligator found inside apartment fire in Tacony, 1 hurt
Firefighters found flames and an alligator inside an apartment in Philadelphia's Tacony section.

TACONY (WPVI) -- Firefighters found flames and an alligator inside an apartment in Philadelphia's Tacony section.

It happened before 8 p.m. Wednesday above a barber shop on the corner of Unruh Avenue and Tulip Street.

One person was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital for treatment.

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia removed an alligator from the apartment.

On Thursday, the ACCT sent Action News a photo of the 12-inch gator.

It took fire crews fifteen minutes to place the blaze under control.
