PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The museum of the Academy of Natural Sciences is set to close after almost two centuries, Drexel University announced Tuesday.
The board said the move to shutter the museum, which was founded in 1828, follows an extensive process aimed at strengthening the academy for the future.
Drexel University says the Academy of Natural Science will continue in its mission of research, education and public engagement.
The museum is slated to close at the end of September.
