VIDEO: Family escapes house fire in Medford
Authorities say the fire broke out on the rear deck late Monday night then tore through the home.

MEDFORD, N.J. (WPVI) -- A family of five is safe after fire chased them from their Burlington County home.

It happened at 11:30 p.m. Monday in the unit block of Woodthrush Trail East in Medford.

Fire officials tell Action News the blaze started on the rear deck and quickly swept through the rest of the home.

The family was awakened in time and everyone got out safely.

Fire investigators are working to pinpoint the cause.
