ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Officials say an armed man was arrested after a standoff with police in Atlantic City, New Jersey late Tuesday night.
Police were called around 11:30 p.m. to the 600 block of Elberon Avenue.
Officers arrived to find a man barricaded inside a residence.
The man allegedly fired a shot at the police.
Neighbors reported hearing four or five shots in quick succession at one point and then another single shot a short time later during the standoff.
Police continually tried negotiating with the man but had to take cover.
Nearby residents were told by police to stay inside and away from the windows.
After about ninety minutes, the man reportedly ran out the back door of the residence naked.
SWAT team members then quickly moved in and took him into custody.
The man was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
There were no reports of injuries during the standoff.
