DEAL, N.J. -- Swimmers were ordered out of the ocean at a New Jersey beach after a report that a shark was spotted.

Deal police say the 6- to 7-foot shark was seen about 100 yards off the Deal Casino on Thursday morning.

Swimmers were allowed back in the surf at around 12:45 p.m. because there were no sightings within the hour.

The shark was last seen headed north toward Long Branch following a school of dolphins.
