PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Lt. Kenneth Greene Sr. died Thursday at Einstein Medical Center.

Greene had been transported to the hospital on September 3rd while on-duty at Engine 37, the Department said.

Lt. Greene, 60, a veteran of the United States Army, had served the Department for 23 years on several engine and ladder companies.

In 2007, his unit at Ladder 14 received a citation for helping to rescue two people from a house fire in Brewerytown.

Arrangements are pending.
