Stonewall Awards Brunch honors Philadelphians, organizations supporting LGBTQ+ community

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Gay News hosted its annual awards brunch to honor local leaders and organizations that have made a positive impact on the LGBTQ+ community.

AJ Hikes -- the Deputy Executive Director for Strategy & Culture for the ACLU and the former Executive Director of the Philadelphia Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs who introduced the More Color, More Pride flag -- was Sunday's master of ceremonies.

U.S. Senator Bob Casey, (D) presented the event's keynote address.

This year's honorees included:

- Bob Brady, Chairman of the Philadelphia Democratic Party

- Rue Landau, Philadelphia City Councilmember

- Alba Martinez, Philadelphia Director of Commerce

- Joanna McClinton, Speaker of the Pa. House of Representatives

- Sapphira Cristal, RuPaul's Drag Race finalist
