5-vehicle crash on Scudder Falls Bridge in Bucks County

Police say five vehicles were involved in a crash on Scudder Falls Bridge in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania early Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred around midnight in the northbound lanes of Interstate-95.

Police say a Ford Expedition was traveling in the left lane and lost control. When the driver tried to regain control, he veered into the right lane and then back across the left lane of travel, before hitting the concrete barrier.

The SUV then overturned onto its side and came to a final rest around 40 feet north from the initial point of impact.

Because of this accident, other drivers slammed onto their brakes trying to avoid hitting the overturned SUV.

There was a chain reaction rear-end accident involving four more vehicles.

No injuries were reported.
