FRAZER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Route 202 North has reopened in Chester County after an accident involving a tractor trailer and a fuel spill.

The accident happened after 5:00 a.m. Tuesday in the northbound lanes just south of Route 401 in Frazer.

Images from Chopper 6 HD at the scene showed a large dump truck that had collided with the concrete barrier on the right side of the highway.

It appeared the passenger side of the truck had traveled up onto the barrier, leaving the cab of the truck tilted at a 45-degree angle to the highway.

The truck's fuel tank was punctured in the collision, sending fuel spilling onto the highway. Cleanup crews were on the scene, and sand was seen spread on the road to absorb the spilled fuel.

At first one lane was getting by at the scene and motorists were being advised to expect intermittent road closures as the cleanup work continued.

Beginning at about 7:30 a.m., a crane truck was on the scene to begin righting the tractor trailer and remove it from the scene. At that point, all northbound lanes were shut down.

Those lanes remained closed nearly an hour later.

The accident happened after 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in the northbound lanes of Route 202 just south of Route 401 in Frazer.

Northbound traffic was backed up for miles on northbound 202 from Route 30 approaching Route 401. Sky 6 traffic cameras showed a significant secondary backup on the Route 30 bypass as a result of the 202 incident.

The original accident scene was finally cleared by about 8:40 a.m. and 202 North was reopened.
