Members of the Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter freed a feline from a jar. The kitten they're calling Bottle Cap had been wandering about Raritan Township for at least a week with his head stuck in a glass jar.

Neighbors feared the kitten would starve. But they couldn't catch him until the jarheaded feral kitten was found wedged under a deck Thursday morning.

A veterinarian used cooking oil to free the feline.

The black domestic shorthair with a white face and paws was taken to a shelter and will be put up for adoption.
