Trying to bring back starry nights

Robert Wagner has seen the light -- and he doesn't like it.

The Kansas City, Missouri, man wants to bring back starry nights.

He says thousands of yard lights, street-lights and illuminated signs blot out the night sky.

He says light pollution not only wastes energy but obscures the view of the heavens.

He's encouraging lawmakers to pass a measure that would contain light leaks in state parks.

Wagner says reducing light pollution isn't that tough.

He says we just need to turn off unneeded lights and use fixtures that direct the light to where it is needed most.
