Sheriff's deputies have parked their gas-guzzling cruisers in the small town of Bremen and replaced them with golf carts.
Fairfield County Sheriff's Sergeant Forrest Cassel says the carts do more than save money on gas.
He notes the carts are open and encourage interaction between the public and deputies.
He adds that people wave as deputies drive past in their golf carts.
