Phillies Host Braves on Friday Night

The Phillies are out of first place in the NL East for the first time in nearly two months. But their series against Atlanta - which may be without star Chipper Jones - could help them get back on track. The Phillies will be aiming for their eighth straight win against the Braves when the division rivals begin a three-game series Friday night at Citizens Bank Park.

Philadelphia went into the All-Star break with a half-game lead over the Mets, but the Phils have fallen a game behind the Mets after losing the final two games of their three-game series this week at Shea Stadium.

Atlanta will likely not have Jones, though. The major league's batting leader strained his hamstring while running out a grounder in a 9-4 win over Florida on Wednesday.

Jones and the Braves are 6 1/2 games behind the Mets.
