Twenty-one-year-old Austin Egenolf is one of four guys facing charges after Butler's bulldog mascot costumes were ripped off.
Egenolf tells The Indianapolis Star he's sorry.
He says the costumes were taken from an unlocked fieldhouse.
Egenolf adds he and the others took the bulldog get-ups to a party, but they lost track of them.
He says the prank got out of hand.
The Indiana school has now ordered two new costumes, valued at about $14,000.
