Plea expected in teen pole dance case

The attorney for an eastern Pennsylvania father accused of hosting a teen drinking party that featured a high school cheerleader dancing in uniform on a stripper pole says his client will plead guilty to some of the charges. Defense attorney John Waldron says 36-year-old Steven Russo, of Bethlehem, has agreed to plead guilty to selling or furnishing alcohol to minors, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors.

Russo on Thursday waived his right to a preliminary hearing stemming from the Dec. 12 party. As part of the deal, prosecutors dropped charges of intimidation of a witness and criminal conspiracy.

Authorities say in court documents that a photo surfaced on Facebook showing a 16-year-old Freedom cheerleader drinking and pole-dancing while another shows two underage girls kissing Russo.
